Premier League Week 5

The first midweek games of the Premier League season have taken place. There were some great performances and the results were as follows:

Crystal Palace 1-1 Brentford FC

Fulham 2-1 Brighton

Southampton 2-1 Chelsea

Leeds United 1-1 Everton

Bournemouth 0-0 Wolves

Manchester City 6-0 Nottingham Forest

Arsenal 2-1 Aston Villa

West Ham 1-1 Tottenham

Liverpool 2-1 Newcastle United

Leicester City 0-1 Manchester United

The weekend provides some exciting matchups with the potential to be the best weekend in the Premier League so far this season. 

Everton lineup against Liverpool in the first game of the weekend, the Merseyside Derby always proves to a hard fought and feisty affair. Frank Lampard and his team will be hoping Liverpool have an off day and will be trying to take advantage of the fans at Goodison Park. 

Tottenham play Fulham in a London derby, both teams have started the season well and both will be trying to keep their good form on the backs of their star strikers, Harry Kane and Aleksander Mitrovic. 

Nottingham Forest matchup against Bournemouth, two newly promoted teams play in the Premiership for the first time. Bournemouth looking to regroup after the sacking of Scott Parker and Notts Forest will be looking to forget their midweek game after a 6-0 loss to Manchester City

Chelsea lineup against West Ham, another London derby this weekend, both teams have had a disappointing start to this season by their own high standards, West Ham with one win out of five games and Chelsea having an up and down start to the season.

Brentford play in form Leeds United, Leeds have started the season well sitting 7th in the league and Brentford in 11, this clash will be a vital match to get 3 points on the board for both teams.

Wolves play Southampton, Wolves looking for their first win of the season whilst Southampton will be trying to maintain their form after a win against Chelsea in the midweek game.

Newcastle are up against Crystal Palace, Newcastle have 2 points from the last three games with draws against Manchester City, Wolves and a loss against Liverpool and with new signing Alexander Isak off the mark on his debut, Wilfried Zaha will be looking to keep up his good form for Crystal Palace.

Aston Villa vs Manchester City, Villa will be looking to move up the table this weekend as they are sitting 19th in the Premier League table, Manchester City will be trying to keep their good start to the season and with new signing Erling Haaland in great form he will be looking to add to his 9 goal tally this weekend. 

Brighton play Leicester City, Brighton are trying to solidify their position in the top 4 with a Leicester City team that have struggled to start this season and are at the bottom of the Premier League with 1 point from their first 5 games.

Manchester United are up against league leaders Arsenal on Sunday, a reinvigorated Man U team in the past games with 3 wins in the last 3 games are against an Arsenal side that hold the only 100% win record in the league.
